You're Not an Imposter: It's Just Your Growth Spurt!

Let's talk about something real: imposter syndrome. That nagging feeling that whispers, "You're a fraud. They're going to find you out!"  Yeah, it's a familiar voice, isn't it?

Girl, I see you. I see the doubt cloud your eyes, the fear that tightens your throat.  And guess what? I've been there too.  Even as a coach who empowers others,  imposter syndrome has shown up at my door  wearing different disguises throughout my journey.

Remember that time I launched my first ever group coaching program? My stomach churned with every sign-up, convinced I wasn't qualified enough to guide them.  Or how about that moment I decided to write my first blog?  Suddenly, every successful coach writing blogs seemed like a literary giant, and I felt like a scribbling kindergartener.

Here's the thing: imposter syndrome thrives on new beginnings.  It's that voice that screams the loudest when you're about to step outside your comfort zone,  when you're on the precipice of something exciting and uncharted.  It's a sneaky way for fear to hold you back from reaching your full potential.

But here's the truth: feeling like an imposter doesn't make you one.  It simply means you're growing, pushing yourself to new heights.  It's a sign that you're not settling, that you're hungry for more.

So, how do we silence the imposter and embrace the growth? Here are a few tips:

  • Acknowledge the Feeling: Don't shove that doubt down. Recognize it, and remind yourself it's a common experience, not a reflection of your worth.

  • Reframe the Narrative: Instead of "I'm not good enough," say "This is a challenge, and I'm up for it!"

  • Focus on Progress: Celebrate your wins, no matter how small. Each step forward is a victory against self-doubt.

  • Seek Support: Surround yourself with people who believe in you and cheer you on. A good coach can be a powerful ally in this journey.

Remember, you are capable of incredible things. Don't let imposter syndrome steal your shine.  We were all meant to rise, to learn, and to grow. Let's do this together, shall we?

With fierce empathy,
