The Lies We Tell Ourselves: Shattering Limiting Beliefs After 30

Let's talk truth bombs!

I don't know about you, but I’ve always been tricked into believing that by the time we’re 30, we should have “it” all figured out. And when we don’t, we hear quiet whispers saying things like, "It's too late to chase that dream,” "you’re too old to start over now”, or “I'm not good enough to do something amazing."

These are lies. Blatant, soul-sucking lies. And it's time we called them out for what they are: limiting beliefs holding us back from the incredible lives we were meant to live.

Lie #1: "It's too late to start over."

Here's the beautiful truth: life isn't linear. It's a glorious, messy, ever-evolving adventure. Maybe you took a detour, raised a family, or built a career that no longer sparks joy. That doesn't mean the well of possibility has run dry. Think of it this way:  wouldn't you rather start building your dream house now, with the wisdom and experience you've gained, than wait another minute on shaky foundations?

Lie #2: "I'm not good enough."

Ugh, this one cuts deep. But here's the thing: worthiness isn't earned, it's inherent. You are worthy of love, happiness, and the pursuit of your wildest dreams. Period.  Stop comparing your Chapter 10 to someone else's Chapter 2. Your real life experience to their highlight reel.  Your journey is unique, and your strengths and experiences are the secret sauce that will make your dreams a reality.

Lie #3: "There's not enough time."

Time is a sneaky trickster, but it's there. We all get 24 hours, the difference is in how we use them.  Identify the time-sucks in your life (endless scrolling or trash tv anyone?) and ruthlessly reclaim those precious minutes. Remember, progress over perfection. Start small, take consistent action, and watch your dreams unfold bit by bit.

Here's a few beautiful perspective swaps;

Instead of dwelling on these limiting beliefs, let's rewrite the narrative with empowering truths:

  • "It's never too late to become who I'm meant to be."

  • "I am worthy of pursuing my passions, and I have the strength to achieve them."

  • "I can create the time and space to make my dreams a reality."

Remember, you are capable of extraordinary things. Don't let these lies dim your light.  If you're ready to quiet the doubt and ignite your inner fire, I'm here for you. Let's chat about how to break free from these limitations and  step into the powerful woman you were always meant to be.
